IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CHANGES TO COMPUTER SYSTEM

We are in the process on changing the computer software platform that we use at Broomhill & Lodge Moor Surgery.

The new computer system will be in place on the 4th July 2024.

Why are we changing?

We have made the decision to change the computer system we use at the surgery because it will improve the communication between the wider health care team providing care four our patients. A majority of our allied health care professionals (including the district nurses, diabetic specialist nurses, health visitors and physiotherapy in Sheffield use the new system and enable us to work more collaboratively with other GP surgeries within our primary care network.

What will it meant for our patients?

Whilst we are working hard to minimise any impact on our patients there are several important factors for you to consider.

1. PRESCRIPTIONS:

There will be a cut over period of 6 working days before the 4th July 2024 when we will be unable to process routine prescriptions and perform prescription using the electronic prescription service (EPS) We ask that:

PATIENTS REQUEST REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS BEFORE THE 26th JUNE OR AFTER THE 8th JULY 2024

ANY PRESCRIPTION ISSUED ACUTELY DURING THIS PERIOD WILL HAVE TO BE PRINTED OUT AND COLLECTED FROM THE SURGERY BY THE PATIENT

2. ONLINE PATIENT SERVICES & ACCESS

Online Patient Access will be momentarily suspended between the 26th June and 8th July 2024. We are of the understanding that patients who currently use the NHS App will be able to continue to use this after the new system goes live.

PATIENTS USING THE EMISWeb PATIENT ACCESS SYSTEM TO ACCESS THEIR MEDICAL RECORDS ONLINE WILL CEASE TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS SYSTEM AFTER THE 26th JUNE 2024 -

We have sent a text to patients that are registered to use this system to advise the to download the NHS App as an alternative.

3. SHARING YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS

Health and Social care organisations who are directly involved in your care (such as district nurses, physiotherapists and urgent care providers) are able to access your medical records using SystmOne. This is with a view to improve communication between organisations and optimising your care.

You can decide if organisations can or can not access your medical records and you can change your preferences at any time.

For further information please see the TPP SystmOne website on www.systmonline.tpp-uk.com/2/help/help.html

Which care services could I go to that could access my patient record?

Providing consent to view your medical records

When you start receiving care from a care service (that uses SystmOne), you have the right to either agree or disagree that they may view your SystmOne record. The health or social care professional seeing you should ask your permission for them to view your

electronic record.

If you answer YES: That care service will be able to view information recorded on your electronic record by other care services (excluding any data you have requested to keep private).

If you answer NO: That care service will not be able to see any information recorded anywhere else (even if your record has been set to share from any other care services). As a patient, you have control over who can see your health information. Even if you give permission on one occasion, you can still change this at any time.
